African and African Caribbean Design Diaspora  (AACDD) will be celebrating the creativity and innovation by members of the African and African Caribbean Disporas living and working in the UK, artists and artisans from African and the Caribbean as well as work from British and international AACDD partner organisations.

Coinciding well with the Mayors Thames Festival and the London Design Festival, for nearly three weeks all floors of the listed Bargehouse of the OXO Tower Wharf complex will be transformed into a 'Treasure Trove' of creativity showcasing amazing artistic talent of more than one hundred artists from the UK, Africa, the Caribbean, USA, Canada, Japan and Europe.

The exhibition will include multi-disciplinary mixed media, fine art, sculpture, photography, graphic design, illustrations, film, music, architecture, interior design and textiles. View works by Graphic Designer/ Photographer Michael Mapp with his contemporary take on post modernism 'A modern portrait of Britain', strong visualisations by Architect/Designer and Photographer  Roberton Lindsay 'Drawing with light'. Other featured artists include Yemi Awosile, Taslim Martin, Zekaryas Solomon, Ameena McConnell, and Chijioke Aguh including many more contemporary designers at the Bargehouse this September.

This is the first time in its entire history that the London Design scene will host such a comprehensive showcase of unique multi-disciplinary black talent:
"By initiating a high quality selection of work drawn from across the black communities, AACDD presents a true talent showcase that shines a light on creative ability, where it is often not sought or acknowledged by the design industry. The shows on offer by AACDD provide a distinguished road map for an under represented part of the creative community. It could not be a more appropriate moment for the UK particularly London to embrace the opportunity of challenging perceptions and encouraging positive activity aimed at building social and economic stability".
